News is news; which is a report on events, people and concepts. Opinion is a personal view that depends on which side of the elephant you are standing on and what you are talking about. When a group or individual uses the media to denounce falsehoods to create a public opinion contrary to current reality, it does so to a disadvantage for the whole. This is not to say that opinions and differences are unacceptable, as it is the American way. That is not up for debate. What is up for debate is the skewed view of the controversy, often controversy, which does not exist. I can think of thousands of examples and so can you.
As the media becomes too competitive and so many sources, we find more stretches of the truth, more outrageous points of view being debated, and interviewers projecting opinions. Which is fine as long as it’s expressed as an opinion. Many media outlets on television do this; many do not. When you look at the AP and where the articles come from and if you have any idea of the area, you will realize that such a biased article will be happily digested by local populations because it fits their socio-economic point of view, for example, the Pueblo in outside of Chicago, West Side of Los Angeles, Scottsdale AZ, DC, Boston, NYC or Kansas City KS. But when it launches into the AP, it ends up in places where Americans have a different point of view. A different colony, so to speak, with a different demographic makeup and underlying set of ideals. In many larger cities, those citizens are adapted to different points of view and it is much more difficult to change fundamental points of view on any subject. When diverse opinions abound and the bombardment of so many sources tends to give a more comprehensive set of ideas on the subject and thus opinion can remain in opinion even if it is released into the mainstream as factual news.
Which obviously asks a question if factual news can exist and after this discussion you can come to see my OPINION as your truth on the news topic or maybe it will open your eyes in case one of them is currently closed. You must open your eyes, close your mouth and observe what is real news and what is mere opinion. If you accept the news as news without questioning it, you have given your opinion, your vote and your mind to the Media and you have joined 90% of the population. If not, you are one of us who can agree to disagree; Think about it.
