Super Bowl XLV will be the 45th football game in the National Football League. The biggest game on the planet will be played on Sunday, February 6, 2011 in North Texas at Cowboys Stadium. All festivities will be broadcast live on the FOX network. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:25 pm Central Standard Time.

The Green Bay Packers will play the Pittsburgh Steelers to determine the champion of the 2010 NFL football season. The Steelers have 6 wins, the most of any team in the NFL. The Packers have 12 overall NFL titles with 3 wins and 9 league titles won before it existed.

The place

Cowboys Stadium, located in Arlington, North Texas, is a marvel of modern engineering. The massive structure is the largest domed structure in the world with a retractable roof. It seats 110,000 people and uses enough energy for this game to power over 1,500 homes for a year. Attendees will be able to watch replays of the 175-foot “Jerry-Tron” stretches from one 20-yard line to the other.

The NFL halftime show is sponsored by Bridgestone and will feature the Black Eyed Peas. Whether you like them or not, they are sure to get the crowd revved up and excited.

The National anthem

Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera will sing the national anthem at pregame activities. Aguilera says that she has been performing the anthem since she was seven years old and has already performed once at XXXIV in Atlanta.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the starting price of a ticket is approximately $2,500. The face value of these tickets ranges from $600 to $1,200. Some Party Plaza tickets are around $300 each. Club seats at the Steelers 50-yard line are up to $15,000. A Ring of Honor suite including 15 tickets and food sold for $73,163. Parking spots in the game cost between $500 and $900.

Increased number of volunteers

The North Texas XLV Host Committee is enlisting the help of more than 10,000 men and women to help with dozens of events taking place in the days leading up to the big event and on game day. Volunteers will be used for everything from answering phone calls to greeting visitors at the airport.

The best Super Bowl parties

The official NFL Tailgate party is scheduled for February 6 and costs $1,500 per ticket. Taste of the NFL Party is February 5 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. It is hosted by current and former NFL players and tickets are $1,000. Leather & Laces Party is February 4-5 and tickets are $800. The most expensive party in town is the Playboy Party with tickets costing $2,700.

Fighter planes to patrol the airspace

The US Department of Homeland Security has requested that the airspace above and around it be restricted and patrolled by US Air Force fighter jets.

FBI taking air samples

In case there is a possibility of a terrorist threat, the FBI is taking air samples at Cowboys Stadium throughout the week and during the big game to monitor any changes in the air.
