Does your cocker spaniel go to the bathroom inside your house when you try to get him out? What if you could not only stop your cocker spaniel from doing this, but also from doing it again? Well, with the help of this article, you will soon be able to stop your cocker spaniel from doing this forever and you won’t have to worry about coming home with “that smell” again.

When I first brought my Cocker Spaniel Noodles home, I had no idea what to expect. He was trying to learn to go to the bathroom with a box and reading countless books on the subject, but he still didn’t understand what to do and it seemed like every day he came home in a mess, which was not right. One day my friend suggested that I try potty training my cocker spaniel using a positive method and guess what, it worked!

Potty training your Cocker Spaniel is best done with a positive method that includes treats and tons of praise every time your Cocker does what you want. This worked very well for me and I am proud to say that Noodles is potty trained at 6 months of age. I realize that I could have done it sooner if I had done it right in the first place.

Here are 3 tips to help you potty train your Cocker Spaniel.

1. Give your dog lots of praise. Whenever they do something right, give them a gift and say “good boy!”

2. Try using a box. Tried this and after figuring out how to do it, it worked great.

3. Set a schedule for your cocker spaniel. Write down the times you will take him to the bathroom and do this every day.

The most important thing to remember is to have patients. It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen if you keep trying.
