Have you tried Acai berry juice? If you are thinking of trying Acai juice for the first time, you may be wondering what this miracle berry will taste like. After resisting the publicity for many months, I decided it was time to try this fruit from the depths of the rainforests. With Oprah and so many other famous people raving about it, I felt like I had to try the Acai berry. I didn’t know whether to try the juice or the capsules. That got me thinking: what does the Acai berry taste like?

Buying a supply of juice and then finding out you didn’t like the taste would be upsetting. So, I did some checking online. Google had a lot of information about the Acai berry flavor. For once, most people agreed.

All the Acai juice flavor descriptions I found were pretty similar. They all describe the flavor as “berry and chocolate flavor.” That sounded very exotic for a fruit. The idea of chocolate was almost irresistible. Trying to imagine the exact flavor was impossible. It sounded intriguing enough to be worth a try.

Which is better the Acai juice or the capsules? Well, I read information pages and I still don’t know the answer. Getting the answer to how the juice tastes was easy. However, to find out if getting the juice from the capsules was not. Acai fans are equally divided on the issue. Half say that you should definitely take Acai berry in juice form. The other half is equally convinced that Acai capsules are the best.

My choice was not exactly made scientifically. I saw a special offer on Acai juice. It included free delivery; that (and the idea of the chocolate flavor) ensured it. The juice arrived in a couple of days. I couldn’t wait to start. After reading all the instructions I opened the bottle. A cautious sniffing reassured me. The juice smelled fruity with chocolate undertones. Would Acai berry juice taste like chocolate?

Having recently been exposed to dozens of ads for Acai berry juice, I had a few ideas about its appearance. You may have noticed that some of these Acai berry juices are packaged in bottles similar to wine bottles. I knew Acai juice would not taste like wine. However, I imagined it would look like red wine. Bordeaux red and chocolate flavored was what I imagined.

My first glass of Acai juice was a surprise. It didn’t look like red wine. It didn’t even look like red grape juice. It wasn’t the clear, sparkling juice of my imagination. In fact, it looked like muddy water. The appearance of the juice did not put me off. “Plum color” sounds more attractive than muddy. The cloudy appearance didn’t matter, and it smelled good.

What does the Acai berry taste like? My first sip confirmed that it does taste fruity with chocolate undertones, but not in a good way. To be honest the taste was horrible. It wasn’t a very strong flavor. There was something unpleasant about it. Fortunately, it became drinkable when mixed with other fruit juices.

If you (as I did) approach the Acai juice experience with high expectations for the fruity and chocolate flavor, you’ll probably be disappointed. However, the news is not all bad. I have done a little more research since I bought my first Acai berry juice. It seems that the different brands of juice differ greatly in taste. You may be able to find one to your liking. In either case, the taste of Acai berry juice can be enhanced by mixing it with other fruit juices of your choice. So it is worth trying different brands.
