My time in Los Angeles is coming to an end, but just because I’m on the West Coast, I’ve clearly been following what’s going on in the world of basketball. I finally got a chance to play in Los Angeles and the game is just as I anticipated. Strictly fast break without the flash-n-flare ball handling skills that are on display in Chicago and in New York City. Overall, I stand by my claim that Chicago truly has the best ball players, my city has the best overall players in the country, and has the biggest heart. Let it be known that the NBA MVP hails from the Windy City.

Speaking of the Windy City, kudos to Derrick Rose for being mad at the Indiana Pacer for celebrating on the United Center floor after beating the Chicago Bulls earlier this week. The rest of the club should have been so upset that Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen wouldn’t have allowed the other team to celebrate on our pitch. Again, that shows the Chicago mentality when it comes to basketball WE DO THIS!!!!!!!

I have no idea what is going on with my Fighting ILLINI?!?!? It seems that once they’re ranked, that’s when they start to lose. This team is young but it starts and ends with Meyers Leonard, who needs to be more dominant in the post. The legitimate 7’0 center has career potential but isn’t using his skills every time. DJ Richardson and Brandon Paul have shown promise, but this team still needs to do better or it will end up in the NIT like it did two years ago.

The D-League of College Basketball, also known as the Kentucky Wildcats, is once again #1 in the nation. The Cats are clicking and Anthony Davis is playing like the 2012 NBA No. 1 pick everyone is projecting. Expect this group to cut the nets in April.

Summary: Unsurprisingly, the Kentucky Wildcats cut the nets on the first Monday in April and then made their highly anticipated trip to the White House to meet with President Obama. Also Coach Cal, aka Coach one and done, is back on the recruiting trail as his starting five declared for the 2012 NBA Draft with Anthony Davis the most likely first pick. Marcus Teague would have benefited from another year at the school, but his strong play late in the season and during the tournament raised his draft stock. My prediction, add Anthony Davis along with Derrick Rose and John Wall as #1 picks coached by John Calapari.

My Chicago Bulls have gone fishing for the summer, but I don’t really concede the Sixers win due to the fact that our MVP Derrick Rose tore his ACL and Jokim Noah suffered an ankle injury. When healthy, the Bulls are the best team in the NBA. Well, next time I’ll blog about the deepest draft in years.
