Chris Johnson has just completed a dream season. This was simply one of the best seasons in recent memory for a driver, and one of the best in the history of the sport.

During the team’s Week 17 victory over the Seahawks, Johnson led the Titans to a 17-13 victory over Seattle. While the game was pointless for both teams as far as playoff hopes go, there was one major milestone that occurred during the course of this football game.

Chris Johnson had the opportunity to break the 2,000 rushing yard mark for the season, and would become the sixth player in NFL history to achieve this milestone.

All it would take would be 128 yards over the course of the game. While this would normally seem like a tall order, it was extremely doable for the skilled RB.

After all, he had already topped 100 or more rushing yards in each of his last ten games. Plus, he had a chance to set the single-season record for most total scrimmage yards, as his 483 receiving yards for the year gave him some even more impressive totals.

Incredibly, he was able to accomplish both on the same day. With 134 rushing yards, Johnson’s total eclipsed the 2,000 mark by 6 yards, and a few receptions led him to pass Marshall Faulk for the all-time single-season record for yards from scrimmage.

Both achievements are to be highly commended. The young talent entered his second year of professional soccer with high expectations, but no one expected him to be the leading running back in the league.

17 weeks later, Johnson has accomplished what no one else could, and he did it on a team that largely struggled early in the season. Hats off to him for this tremendous feat.
