The Crane Resort and Residences is a paradise on the southeast coast of Barbados. Barbados is a beautiful place in itself, but the elegance and class that Crane Resort provides is second to none. This would be a great place for a romantic weekend or honeymoon experience. Crane resort overlooks the world famous Crane Beach, which was named “one of the top ten beaches in the world” by Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. The resort was named Tourism Pillar Award 2007. As we saw the crystal clear ocean from the hotel, it was the perfect calm blue sea. We stayed in the Junior Gardenview Suite which should in no way be considered a junior. The room had elegant wooden floors with wooden furniture with a separate room with sitting area and a private patio that overlooked the resort’s gardens.

Our favorite element was the main pool which overlooks the aquarium on one side and magnificent Crane Beach on the other. The pool is huge with comfortable loungers surrounding the pool. Unfortunately there was no hot tub to enjoy at night. We discovered that in some of the deluxe rooms there are private pools and some of them could have a hot tub.

The concierge at the crane was very helpful and recommended a sunset snorkel trip with giant sea turtles. The concierge was also helpful in getting us into town arranging a taxi and recommending restaurants. Oistin’s fish fry in town gave an excellent meal, but I thought it was overdone a bit. Also for some local cuisine I recommend Brown Sugar, not fancy but good local food.

The beach is absolutely beautiful. The sand has a purple hue that gives it a unique experience. The ocean has a constant set of waves coming in, so swimming out is not recommended for the novice swimmer. There is a set of cliffs for the more adventurous to jump off and experience the thrill. There are lifeguards stationed if you go a bit out of your mind, but of course that experience is not recommended. What was most impressive is that the beach never felt crowded, it gave you that quite romantic feeling.

I highly recommend the Crane Resort for a quite romantic experience. If you want to enjoy a quiet weakness this is your place. Nightlife is almost non-existent, but that’s not the reason to fly.
