Our sight is absolutely fundamental to our ability to interact with the world. As a result, it’s important that you take steps to keep your eyes healthy and keep your vision sharp for as long as possible. These 3 steps will help you achieve this goal, and best of all, they are very quick and easy to incorporate into your daily routine.

1. Feed your eyes

Our eyes are one of the most delicate parts of our body. They are made of very soft materials that are easily damaged and are constantly attacked by dust, dirt and other particles in the air. Fortunately, they are well designed to be able to repair this damage, provided they are supplied with the proper nutrients to do so. Certain foods have been shown to help your eyes repair themselves, including green vegetables, apricots, and blueberries. Try to add some of these to your diet every day.

2.Reduce eye strain

When we strain our eyes, it can leave muscles fatigued, just like working any other muscle. Over time, these muscles can become permanently weak and this can lead to conditions such as nearsightedness and blurred vision. You can avoid this by minimizing the strain on your eyes. When reading, always make sure the room is well lit, to illuminate the words. When using a computer screen, be sure to take regular breaks to give your eyes a chance to recover and get used to focusing on more distant objects again.

3. Keep them clean

It is important to clean the skin around the eyes regularly to ensure that dirt particles do not reach the eyeball and cause irritation or infection. This is especially true if you wear makeup. Use cotton to gently dab the area around your eye to cleanse it, and then follow this up by splashing some cool water on your face. For even better results, you can use a cold compress or face mask, which you should leave on your eyes for about 10 minutes to reduce puffiness and soothe your eyes.

Taking care of your eyes doesn’t have to be a time-consuming task, and in fact, it can be easily incorporated into your daily routine. Following these steps regularly will help keep your eyes healthy and strong for many years.
