Now that the NBA Playoffs are over, it’s time for NBA superstars to unite for a better cause, that’s Team USA. In recent months, NBA teams like Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers , Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs and more have been battling it out in incredible games to prove who is the better team. in the NBA Now that the battle is over, players from many of the teams and other teams in the NBA will have to shake hands, train together and work together to conquer the world in Beijing this August.
The Summer Olympics are an event that occurs every four years. For me, the most exciting part of the Summer Olympics is the basketball tournament. I remember seeing the 1992 Dream Team when they took on the world of basketball. Featuring the likes of Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, and Patrick Ewing, the basketball Dream Team shattered the competition and won the gold medal. Since then, basketball has become a more widespread sport, making it difficult for the US team to win gold at the recent Olympics.
The NBA has a lot of stars now that are not from the United States. Stars like Yao Ming and Pau Gasol will play for their home countries during the Olympics, while Team USA will feature some of their own teammates. So how will NBA stars like Kobe Bryant feel when he has to play alongside his opponents to take down teammate Pau Gasol? Will NBA players be able to make the adjustment of turning opponents into teammates and teammates into opponents?
The final 12-man roster for Team USA that will compete in the 2008 Olympics was recently announced. The roster features:

All of these players come from different teams, with the exception of Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams, who play for the Utah Jazz. Almost all of them also played in the 2008 NBA Playoffs. So now they must come together as one team with one goal: to win gold in Beijing. Can they do it? I think they will do well, but they are definitely not a team comparable to the 1992 Dream Team.
