Increase the power of your PC by disabling unnecessary services in Windows 7.

Windows services run at startup and each one runs in the background. In fact, they slow down your startup and the system in general, especially the hard drive. This list should “help you make the right choice.”

It is recommended to create a system restore point to avoid any risky handling.

Method of disabling a service

Start by opening the Start menu, type services and click on the title. A list of appearance services.

Double-click the service in question, and then click Stop.

In the corresponding dropdown under Startup type, select Disable. All confirm by clicking OK.

It will simply repeat for each service in the list.

List of services to disable

#1 – Intellectual Property Support

To disable if you don’t use IPv6, which is the box with most PCs.

#2 – Support netbios over tcp/ip

If your network includes computers running Windows 98, activated… Cards in 99% slots completely useless!

#3 – Parental Controls

If you use this Windows component, please disable it!

#4 – Security Center

It includes all security settings in a single dashboard. It is of no use if you never modify the default settings or if you have entrusted this task to a security suite.

#5 – Distributed Link Tracking Client

Use in a network of at least ten positions.

#6 – Offline Files

Uncheck if it does synchronization functions between multiple computers.

#7 – Add key generation and AuthIP ike

Do you use a VPN? Let activate it, if not deactivate it without hesitation.

#8 – Secondary login

Useless if you don’t need to have 2 authenticated users at the same time on your PC.

#9 – Publishing resource discovery functions

To disable only if your PC is not with other computers on the network.

#10 – Windows Error Reporting Services

Windows reports are never useful to the average user.

#11 – Policy Service Diagnosis

To disable it because it is useless for the end user.

#12 – Service Program Compatibility Wizard

Useful only if you use the compatibility wizard with older programs.

#13 – wdiservicehost host service

Disable.

#14 – Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service

If you don’t use media sharing features with Windows Media Player libraries, turn it off…

#15 – Ready Boost Service

It is supposed to speed up your system via USB flash drive… I never knew its proven effectiveness!

#16 – Web client

Completely unnecessary.

#17 – Windows Defender

Windows Defender is another spyware-fighting utility. You probably already use the year all-in-one – it’s usually included with your antivirus. Similarly, if you know the best methods of web browsing, disabling this service will restore power to your hard drive.

#18 – Windows Search / Windows Search

Surely the most effective method to restore your hard drive performance at the expense of research using indexing. You gain in general target list performance, you lose search speed, although search speed with or without indexing is very relative. So I strongly recommend that you disable laptops.
