If you have a mastiff then you probably know that they tend to drool a bit and if they are like my baby it is mostly after they finish drinking from their water bowl. The slime then decides to fall in big droplets that can turn a clean, dry floor into a wet, messy floor that needs to be mopped. However, here are two methods that I have found that have worked wonderfully in getting my Mastiff to control his drooling problem better than before.

one. Have a second bowl nearby

I know for my mastiff when he is drinking his water he tends to make a big mess no matter how big the bowl is. Now you may be wondering why I say have a second bowl nearby, but that’s because if your dog does something like mine, he’ll turn his head to the side when he’s finished drinking to clear his jowls. Now for mine, when he does this, he usually turns in the same direction and the second bowl will catch almost all of the slime, which means less mess on the floor.

two. Get a slime rag

Just like when you have a new baby and need a burp rag, you’ll want to get an old hand towel for a slobber rag. Now, when your mastiff starts drooling, she’ll want to wipe up any dirty clumps with this rag, and then every other day wash it to prevent bacteria growth. This will help you clean the mess off their face before it gets on your floor as well, but you’ll also want to try to get into the double chin because they hide something in it. Not only that this method will encourage him to start cleaning it himself because they usually don’t like it when they do.
