Its laid-back charm, the almost endless white sand beach, the horseback riding are just some of the reasons why I love this place. Negril is one of the most spectacular beach wedding venues in Jamaica and what motivates it is the famous Negril Lighthouse.
Tea Negril Jamaica Lighthouse It was built in 1894 by the French company Bubbler & Bernard, on top of a 14-foot-deep tank, which is kept full of water. This is to keep the tower balanced and secure in the event of an earthquake. The Tower, which is built inland, is cylindrical and has an elaborate light surrounded by a shield of metal and glass on which there is a waning wind.
Negril Lighthouse Jamaica is located in the south of Negril Point, which is on the western tip of the island of Jamaica. It’s about 3 miles south of downtown Negril proper, a short drive down Westend Road. It is open from 9 am to sunset every day. This concrete lighthouse that is painted white stands 66 feet above ground level and the light rises 100 feet above sea level. The Lighthouse has an automatic white light that flashes every two seconds. The site is a popular Negril region wedding photography attraction and is believed to be the tallest structure in Negril.
Talk to the superintendent who you can persuade to take you on a tour of the interior. There are 103 steps that will take you to the top for a bird’s eye view. Standing tall at 100 feet. The lighthouse offers a panoramic view of the sea and countryside as they blend together, the Negril Lighthouse lawn is the perfect place to watch the sun set behind the ocean. That’s probably why it’s the most common wedding photography and videography venue in Negril. Many Negril wedding memorabilia have been recorded on the lawn of the Negril Point Lighthouse.
The Negril Jamaica Lighthouse is an operational historic building maintained by the Jamaica Ports Authority, an agency of the Ministry of Transport and Works. Because the lighthouse is a listed building, there are set standards that must be followed. However, these rules are not rigid enough to spoil any wedding in Negril Jamaica.
